Reading and music: An evening with Franz Kafka

He will be accompanied musically by a trio consisting of Herwig Hammerl, Peter Madsen and Martin Grabher. You can hear blues, melancholy ballads and Kafkaesque improvisations.

Illness, self-doubt and an agonizing relationship with his father shaped Kafka's life. But his suffering was also the source of his creativity. He was a writer who was afraid of failure to the very end - and thus created a unique body of work.
