
Fonkachüachli
Traditional dessert in the Großes Walsertal
The traditional "Fonkachüachli" (padded dumplings) are a must at a Fonka or Chüachlisu(o)nntig in the Großes Walsertal. Take a piece of Walser tradition home with you and try this sweet pastry for yourself.
Have fun baking it yourself!
Ingredients:
- 25 dag flour
- 8 dag butter
- 1 egg
- salt
- 1/16 l cream
- a little cold milk
Preparation:
- Mix the ingredients to form a firm dough.
- Knead until the dough forms bubbles.
- Roll out with a Chüachlitrulli (pasta roller) to the thickness of the back of a knife.
- Cut into triangular or square sheets and fry in fat until light yellow.
- Then roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
