The Formarinsee can be reached in several ways: on foot from the Klostertal, Große Walsertal and Lech Zürs, by hiking bus from Dalaas or Lech or by bike through the Zugertal to the Formarinsee.
By Foot to Formarinsee
From Dalaas: hiking trail via Mason, Mustrinalpe and Alpe Rauher Staffel to Formarinsee – walking time: approx. 3 h
From Lech: after Zug, through the Zugertal and on to the Formarinalpe – walking time: approx. 5 h
From Braz: hiking trail via Malarsch, Masonalpe and Gwurfjoch to Formarinsee – walking time: approx. 6 h
Großes Walsertal from Alpe Laguz (from Marul with hiking bus to Laguz) – walking time: approx. 2,5 h
Großes Walsertal from Sonntag via Sonntag-Stein (cable car), Garmil and Laguzalpe – walking time: approx. 6 h
With the Hiking Bus
From Bludenz/Braz With the Landbus Klostertal line 720 to Langen and line 750 to Lech (for free with the Guest Card). From there with the local hiking bus Lech to Formarinsee (attention: toll road).
From Lech The local bus Lech runs in summer as a hiking bus to Spullersee L 706 (Ravensburger Hütte) and to Formarinsee L 707 (Freiburger Hütte) daily between Lech and the lakes every hour.
By Mountainbike
Start of the tour is the municipality of Lech. First through the village in the direction of Zürs. At the Rüfikopfbahn the road to the right branches off to Zug. Through the car-free Zugertal the path leads you past the Älpele until you reach a fork in the road. Continue straight on until Formarin Alpe and then around Formarinsee to the Freiburgerhütte. Return via the same route.
