Storytelling café: End of the war in Bludenz

In 1954, the then mayor of Bludenz, Eduard Dietrich, published a series in the Bludenzer Anzeiger entitled “Bludenz in the post-war years 1945-1954” with his memories “from the mayor's perspective” of the various political and social events in the town. “Probably never before has a mayor of our town and the men who advised him had such a tremendously difficult start; everyone will admit that”, the editors of the Bludenzer Anzeiger wrote at the beginning of the mayor's memoirs.

In 2025, the town archive is dedicating itself to the end of the war and the liberation from Nazi rule as well as the subsequent years of occupation and reconstruction. The aim is not only to gain new insights from the archive's files and documents, but also to invite the public to provide documents and photographs from the past. The storytelling café will provide the space for this.
