LVS Training Facility for Winter Sports Enthusiasts

Proper tour planning and cautious behavior in alpine terrain can significantly reduce the risk of avalanches. However, in the event of an emergency, quick and confident action is crucial—knowing how to properly use an avalanche transceiver (LVS device) can save lives.

To help winter sports enthusiasts train effectively in a realistic environment, a modern LVS training facility has been established on the Tschengla Plateau. This project was realized in cooperation with the Alpine Club Vorarlberg, the local mountain rescue teams of Bludenz, Brand, and Nenzing, the Nature Friends Vorarlberg, FIRMALPIN, Bergbahnen Brandnertal, and Bürserberg Tourismus GmbH.

Location

The avalanche training field is located just past the Tschengla hiking parking lot, heading towards Alpe Rona on the left side. It is easily accessible.

Free Use & Training Opportunities

The LVS training facility is available free of charge and without prior registration. Winter sports enthusiasts can simulate and practice various avalanche rescue scenarios under realistic conditions. Thanks to the computer-controlled PIEPS ART STATION, hidden transmitters in the training area can be located at different difficulty levels. A detailed user guide is available on-site for easy operation.

Take this opportunity to enhance your avalanche rescue skills—for greater safety in the mountains!
