The 10 FIS rules for safe behavior on the slopes
The FIS rules for safe behavior on the slopes
It's me, Brandolin, the little fox child from Brandnertal. Today I would like to introduce you to the FIS rules. These are important rules of conduct that help us all to be safe and have fun on the slopes. Are you ready? Then let's get going!
1. Be considerate of other skiers and snowboarders
We are rarely alone on the slopes. That's why it's important to always look out for others and not endanger them. Please ski with foresight.
2. Pay attention to your speed and riding style
Each and every one of us rides at different speeds. Make sure you adapt your speed and skiing style to your ability, the terrain, the snow conditions and the traffic on the piste. This will keep you safe on the slopes.
3. Choice of lane
If you are coming from behind, you have a better overview. Choose your lane so that you don't endanger anyone in front of you. Remember: Whoever is in front has right of way!
4. Overtaking
Overtaking is permitted, but please keep a sufficient distance. Whether from above, below, right or left - make sure that there is enough space for everyone to continue their journey.
5. Entering, starting and riding uphill
Before you start a descent or set off again after a stop, always look up and down to make sure that the slope is clear. This will help you avoid collisions.
6. Stopping on the slope
Please do not stop in narrow or unclear places. Stop at the edge of the slope where you are not obstructing anyone. If you have fallen, clear the piste as quickly as possible so as not to endanger yourself or others.
7. Ascent and descent
If you are on foot, please walk along the edge of the slope. That way you won't get in the way of skiers.
8. Observe the signs
There are many signs and markings on the piste to help you reach your destination safely. Always pay attention to them and follow their instructions.
9. Assistance
If someone falls or needs help, be ready to help. Providing first aid is mandatory. Also inform the piste staff if necessary.
10. Compulsory identification
In the event of an accident, it is important that everyone gives their personal details, regardless of whether they are a witness or a person involved. This way, everything can be dealt with quickly and correctly.
I hope these tips will help you to explore the slopes in Brandnertal safely and with lots of fun. Always remember: safety first! I look forward to seeing you on the slopes soon.
