Experience the deer rutting season in Brandnertal
A hike to the Mottakopf
Autumn in Brandnertal is a special time - not only because of the colorful leaves and clear mountain air, but also because of a fascinating natural spectacle: the rutting of the stags.
When the forests are bathed in golden light and the first wafts of mist lie over the valley, the impressive spectacle of the rutting of the stags begins. During this time, the Brandnertal is transformed into a stage for the red deer, whose mighty roars echo through the mountain landscape.
One of the best ways to experience this natural spectacle up close is to hike up the Mottakopf. The trail is well signposted and offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the tranquillity of nature. The somewhat strenuous ascent is particularly worthwhile in the early morning or late afternoon, when the deer are at their most active. Once you reach the top of the Mottakopf, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the valley, accompanied by the impressive bellowing of the deer in the background. Don't forget to sign the summit register.
Now it's time to lace up your hiking boots, pack a snack and experience autumn in Brandnertal in a very special way.
