Easter lamb
Recipe tip for Easter
Mhmmm... An Easter classic! The traditional Easter lamb is a must at every Easter celebration. It's very easy and quick to prepare. So, what are you waiting for? Have fun trying it out and Happy Easter!
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 110 g sugar
- 120 g soft butter or margarine
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 160 g flour
- 1 std. tsp baking powder
- butter and breadcrumbs for the tin
- powdered sugar for dusting
My secret tip: a few fresh zests of an organic orange give the Easter lamb a refreshingly fruity note!
Preparation:
Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with half the sugar until stiff. Beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla sugar and salt until frothy. Carefully add the baking powder and flour and fold in the beaten egg whites. Grease the baking tin with butter, assemble and seal. Sprinkle the tin with breadcrumbs and pour in the batter. Smooth out and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C with top and bottom heat for approx. 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and wrap in a damp tea towel for approx. 10 minutes. Then carefully remove from the tin and leave to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy.
