A tasteful farewell

Farm sale in Brandnertal

It was the last day of their vacation in Brandnertal and Valentina and her family were packing their bags for the journey home. Before they left, however, they wanted to visit the small self-service store right next to their vacation home. They had been buying fresh local products here for the last few days and now they wanted to take some delicacies home with them.

As they entered the small, cozy store, they saw that the farmer's wife was in the process of restocking the shelves with fresh mountain cheese and other products. "Good morning! You're early,' Sandra greeted them with a smile.

Valentina and her family nodded in a friendly manner and began to browse through the selection. It was hard to choose - the tangy mountain cheese they had enjoyed so much during their stay was temptingly placed in front of them, as were the homemade butter and savory bacon. Valentina picked up a piece of cheese and turned to Sandra: "This cheese has been with us the whole vacation. We just have to take some home with us."

Sandra smiled proudly. "I'm glad to hear that. The cheese is made here on the farm from the milk of our cows that graze in the Alps. Everything you find here comes directly from the region. It's important to know where the food you eat comes from."

The family filled their basket with all kinds of goodies, while Sandra gave them a few tips on how best to store and use the produce. With their basket full of regional specialties - a piece of Brandnertal - the family made their way home.
