Sun, moon and winter fun
On the mountain from morning to night
"See you later!" One last kiss on the helmet and she's gone. Without turning around again, our daughter Lara walks to the ski school meeting point. She already knows the way and the ski instructor from yesterday. Lara will be in the best hands today and will learn a lot again.
This leaves us plenty of room to make big turns on the slopes at our own pace. My legs are tingling in anticipation of the first descent on our favorite slope and we set off with the familiar click of our ski boots in the bindings. Glattjoch, Niggenkopf, Gulma and Einhornbahn - we use all the lifts in both Brand and Bürserberg several times and can't get enough. The feeling of gliding through snow-covered landscapes with skis under your feet is simply fulfilling.
But even the sportiest skiers need to recharge their batteries every now and then. We meet our daughter at the inn for lunch. Full of enthusiasm, she told us new learned skiing practices and that seh can already use the lift on her own. Lara's joy makes us adults smile happily. After lunch, we all get back into our bindings. Another two hours and then we're off for the last descent of the day, back down into the valley.
But we're not quite saying goodbye to the mountain for today. After dinner, we slip back into our ski pants, gloves and helmets. We're going night tobogganing! We hire the toboggans directly at the valley station, then we glide towards the darkness on the village cable car. How beautiful the lights of Brand are from here! As soon as we get off, we notice that the atmosphere on the mountain is completely different at night. It is quiet. Somehow it's as if the lack of light means that everything unimportant fades out.
We enjoy this special feeling for a moment before getting on the toboggan. Now it's time for action! We head down into the valley at high speed on the floodlit track. Lara's and my partner's laughter rings through the night as we whizz around the bends and I let out a happy whoop. What fun!
Back at our accommodation, we fall into our beds full of adrenaline. But tiredness is not long in coming after our eventful day - and the anticipation of the next experiences tomorrow accompanies us into our dreams.
