Rubin's proximity to Austrian pop music and dialect is an exciting new approach to supposedly familiar territory. Born in Burgenland, Croatia, he spent his childhood in various countries and now lives in Vienna. The songwriter allows his personal life experiences to flow directly and unfiltered into his music and lyrics. His mostly melancholic and always smart lyrics and catchy melodies create a familiar and pleasingly independent overall picture with strong local roots.
