On fixed dates, a Walser Guides ski guide will take you to the most beautiful Walser ski tour peaks.
All destinations differ in terms of length, effort and technical difficulty. So there is a suitable destination for every ski tourer:
-Portlahorn (2,010 m): The perfect destination for ski tour beginners. We start in Damüls and reach the summit after a 2 to 2.5 hour ascent on less steep slopes. After a long rest at the summit, we decide which of the many downhill options we choose. [400 vertical metres, total 4-5 hours, max. 7 participants].
-
Schafberg (2,413 m): The highest peak of our Tuesday destinations in March and at the same time a rather rarely climbed mountain in the Grosses Walsertal. The start is in the Sonntag-Stein ski area. After the short ascent to the Garmil, we descend to the Laguzalpe, where the actual ascent begins. Passing the Rote Wand and the Lusgrind, we walk through mostly unspoilt landscapes. After the summit rest at 2,413 metres, we descend through the Faludriga Valley to Marul. We return to Sonntag by taxi or a car parked here. [1,100 metres in altitude, 7-8 hours in total, max. 6 participants].
-Zafernhorn (2,107 m): Located above Faschina, the Zafernhorn is a great ski touring mountain of medium difficulty. After the first few metres in the forest, we reach the wide, treeless southern slopes, which we cross to the east. The last 200 metres in altitude are a real challenge, after which the mountain rewards us with a magnificent descent. [750 vertical metres, 5-6 hours in total, max. 6 participants].
-Lusgrind (2,286 m): Next to the queen of the valley, the Rote Wand, this mountain is located in one of the most impressive landscapes in the country. We start in the Sonntag-Stein ski area and climb via the Gamil and the Laguzalpe to the 2,286 m high summit. There we decide which of the many downhill options to choose. [1,250 metres in altitude, approx. 6.5 - 7.5 hours in total, max. 7 participants].
-Gamsfreiheit (2,211 m): The start of our most challenging destination of the Tuesday ski tours is Marul. After the ascent through the Faludriga valley, we reach the lonely and wide slopes below the Gamsfreiheit and the Weißes Rössle. After a final, steep ascent, the summit rewards us with a magnificent mountain panorama. [1,300 metres in altitude, approx. 8 hours in total, max. 5 participants].
