Way of St. James: Pettneu (Tyrol) to Klösterle am Arlberg | Klostertal

From the railway subway in Pettneu, head north to the cross road and follow it west. Cross the main road in the direction of Vadiesen, continue to Gand and turn right uphill (Obergander Weg) to a path on the slope heading west. From the path, a detour to the church of St. Jakob is recommended. After 700 m, in Bach, head to the old Arlberg road to St. Anton am Arlberg. Continue along a promenade on the northern edge of the village and through a park to a roundabout. Above the car park, walk along a path to the bridge and come to the road subway to the Rendlbahn. The gorge path becomes a path and leads uphill to a driveway. This leads east onto an asphalted road, then left up to the Stiegeneck Chapel (rest area). Continue through mountain forest and small moors to the Arlberg road and turn right to Lake Maiensee, at 1,865 m the highest point of the Way of St. James. Along the lake you come to a road downhill to St. Christoph. The road takes you over the pass and from there along the partially cleared historic Arlberg path to Alpe Rauz. Carefully cross the road and descend via a meadow path into the Rauzbachschlucht gorge to Stuben. After the lift station, take the first path to the left and follow the "Arlbergweg" signs to Langen. At the road, hike to the railway subway, turn right uphill in front of it and follow the "Arlbergweg" again, partly on the old railway line and on the hiking trail to Klösterle.
