Here you will find tips and advice on how to conquer the mountains of the Alpenregion Vorarlberg safely and without worry.
Plan:
Inform yourself about the length and difficulty of your route and make your destination known to relatives or hosts.
Proper equipment:
Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, provisions, sunglasses, sunscreen, backpack, rain cover, hiking map, emergency phone, etc.
Weather report:
The weather in the mountains is not always predictable. With a little foresight and some local knowledge, you can prevent wet surprises.
Timetable:
Starting early in the morning with a buffer time scheduled, ensures a safe return before dark. Condition: The weakest of the group should decide the pace! Not overexerting and taking enough breaks – remember it should be fun!
Drink:
Drink a lot! Attention - Alcohol limits performance.
Marked trails:
Our trails are well marked. Always follow the marking and in case of doubt always back track. Respect your limits.
Respect our nature:
Avoid noise and waste! Observe nature conservation laws! The next hiker will thank you! >>>Respect your limits
Everything clear? Well then, have fun and be safe on your next hike in the mountains.
All hiking trails are uniformly marked according to the Vorarlberg hiking trails concept and grouped into three levels of difficulty.
The location number (see "Vorarlberger Wanderwege Standortnr." on the picture) can save lives! The number is recorded centrally at the rescue and fire station. In an emergency, the exact location of the casualty can be determined ensuring the fastest possible response.
