Franz Josef Hütte
The Franz Josef Hütte, Faschina 1704m was built in 1978 by Konzett Franz Josef. The trained bricklayer and ski instructor took the plunge and started his own catering business.
What was once just a small hut with 10 beds is now, 40 years later, an à la carte seasonal business with around 80 beds.
Family and teamwork are very important at the Franz Josef Hütte. The personal contact between Sabine, Franz Josef and the long-standing team and their guests is very important to them. Sabine is now the second generation at the hut. Franz Josef can still be found at the hut every day.
In summer, you can reach the Franz Josef Hütte on foot (approx. 45 minutes from the Faschina car park) or with the DSB Stafelalpe. In winter, you can ski directly to the hut. After an eventful day of skiing or hiking, you will be rewarded at the Franz Josef Hütte with local specialities and a wonderful view of the mountain panorama of the Grosses Walsertal.
Good to know in winter: self-service
