The Klostertaler Bauerntafel: regional enjoyment that connects people
Bridging the gap between agriculture and gastronomy
The Klostertal - a region known for its impressive landscape and traditional agriculture. But there is much more behind the green meadows and steep mountain paths: a strong community that has set itself the task of bringing regional products to the world and at the same time strengthening the connection between farmers and restaurateurs. This is precisely the idea behind the Klostertaler Bauerntafel.
The Klostertaler Bauerntafel emerged from a Leader project. Its aim? To offer the valley's farmers a platform on which they can market their products directly - and at the same time build bridges to the region's restaurants. Since the association was founded in 2012, it has been supported by almost the same people who have been involved from the very beginning and are committed to the idea.
An important concern of the Bauerntafel is to support agriculture and promote regional cuisine. With their network, they represent the interests of farmers at markets and events. Here YOU can get to know the regional products directly - from fresh cheese and sausage to bread, honey and herbs. The products tell of the work behind them, of the care taken by the people who produce them and of the quality that characterizes the region.
In addition to selling at markets and events, the Klostertaler Bauerntafel has also come up with something special: the so-called "Genusskistle". These gift boxes contain selected regional products and are perfect for special occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays or company celebrations. They offer an opportunity to give away the diversity of the Klostertal in a small package - or to enjoy in your own everyday life.
The Klostertaler Bauerntafel sees itself not only as a network and bridge builder, but also as a solution finder for its members. Especially in times of crisis such as the coronavirus pandemic, the association has proven its worth and responded quickly to new challenges. For example, self-service vending machines were set up during the coronavirus crisis to ensure regional sales of products despite closed markets. In addition, creative projects such as cooking instructions in video format were created, in which top chefs from the valley showed how you can prepare regional products - especially meat, which was backed up due to sales difficulties - in a sophisticated and simple way. With such pragmatic and innovative solutions, the Klostertaler Bauerntafel ensures that its members are well positioned even in difficult times.
The Klostertaler Bauerntafel stands for a sustainable, regional economy that values people and nature equally. It creates connections, promotes exchange and brings the quality of regional agriculture directly to the people - whether in the restaurant, at the market or in the form of a lovingly packed box of delicacies.
