Natural snow idyll Klostertal
Between the influence of the Foehn and a snow stronghold
Due to the wide opening of the Klostertal to the west, the westerly winds blow unhindered to the Klostertal and bring large amounts of precipitation all year round. This is why this valley is so rich in snow. What a stroke of luck for the Sonnenkopf ski area: it therefore manages without artificial snowmaking, making it one of the last purely natural snow ski areas of its size. While a mystical foggy atmosphere can be found on some winter days in the lower-lying regions around Bludenz or Feldkirch, the Klostertal welcomes you with sunshine and pure snow enjoyment.
Did you know?
...that we have an average annual precipitation of over 1,600 mm from Dalaas into the valley and 161 days with snow cover in Langen am Arlberg? That is 35 % more than in Austria.
