Leisurely hike at alpine heights around the Formarinsee lake with a view of the mighty Rote Wand.

The journey to the Alpe Formarin bus stop is possible during the summer months with the "Formarinsee" hiking bus from Lech. From Alpe Formarinsee, a gravel road leads slightly downhill to Formarinsee. Follow the gravel road until you reach the hill at the Freiburger Hütte. It is worthwhile to stop for refreshments at the Freiburger Hütte, where you will be spoilt with all kinds of delicacies. Return via the same path.

Family tip
This short hike is also very suitable for families with small children. The gravel road is no problem even with an all-terrain pushchair!

Alternative for experienced hikers
An alternative for the way back is the path (white-blue-white marking) above the eastern shore of Lake Formarin, which leads slightly downhill back to the Alpe Formarin bus stop. Attention: This trail is only recommended for experienced hikers who are free from vertigo!
