Formarinsee
Detailed description
At the end of the Zugertal valley, in the middle of the Lechquellengebirge mountains, lies Lake Formarin at 1,793 m above sea level. The high mountain lake is of natural origin, forming anew every year from the meltwater of the surrounding mountains.
Geographically, the lake is located in the municipality of Dalaas and can be reached on foot via the StebokWäg from the Klostertal, the Großes Walsertal and from Lech-Zürs. If you prefer to take it easy, take the hiking bus from Lech through the Zugertal valley directly to Lake Formarinsee. The area around Lake Formarinsee is very popular with hikers and mountaineers and offers numerous tours with magnificent panoramic views.
The Lechweg trail, which leads through the Alps and one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe in stages lasting several days, starts below Lake Formarin.
