The region’s cable cars

Once indispensable, now convenient

Today, the cable cars take you to the hiking and skiing areas in both summer and winter. However, cable cars have existed in the Großes Walsertal for ages. In the past, they were indispensable in this valley with its steep mountain slopes and remote farms, transporting locals and products.

Sonntag-Stein

Opposite the biosphärenpark.haus is the valley station of the Sonntag-Stein cable car. The small cable car takes you to Sonntag-Stein in just a few minutes - in both summer and winter. A little recommendation: The end of a day on the "Ste" can be rounded off perfectly at any time of year with a stop at a mountain hut.

Faschina

Here, on the Faschinajoch, at 1,500 meters above sea level, you can clearly feel the quiet, family atmosphere. In just a few minutes you are at the cable cars from every doorstep in Faschina, and it goes straight to the top. In winter to the family ski area and in summer to the hiking area. The rocky, rugged Rote Wand (2,704 m) can be seen from everywhere. The view is a unique natural spectacle at sunset. But not only then.
