FAQs: Frequently asked questions about the "Der Walser" web app and the digital guest card

I have already booked. Why am I not receiving an invitation e-mail from my accommodation?
  • Your accommodation has not yet registered you in the registration system. Some accommodations only register their guests when they check in at the accommodation.
  • The invitation e-mail has landed in the spam folder.
  • The arrival date is more than two weeks in the future. The invitation e-mail arrives at the earliest two weeks before arrival.
  • You are traveling as a group of more than six people. Contact your accommodation if you have not received all digital guest cards.
  • You have given your accommodation no e-mail address or an incorrect or different e-mail address.
  • Your accommodation has made a typing error in the e-mail address.
How do I get my digital guest card?

The digital guest card can be activated in the "Der Walser" web app. If you are staying at an accommodation that offers the web app and the digital guest card, you will receive an invitation e-mail from the accommodation after (pre-)check-in (at the earliest two weeks before arrival). There you can register via the link to the web app and activate your digital guest card and those of your fellow travelers.

Normally, the main traveler receives an invitation e-mail and can then forward the guest cards of fellow travelers (e.g. via WhatsApp).

When will I receive the invitation e-mail for the web app from my accommodation?

The invitation e-mail will be sent at the earliest two weeks before arrival, at the latest when you check in at your accommodation. Depending on the accommodation and hotel program, the timing may vary slightly.

I have not received an invitation e-mail from my accommodation, but I would still like to register for the web app. What can I do?

You can fill in the registration form above with your travel details, which will take you to your invitation e-mail and you can then register. As soon as your accommodation registers you as a guest with the same e-mail address in the registration system, the digital guest card is also active.

I have registered for "Der Walser" using the registration form, but my digital guest card is not active. What can I do?

Registration in the registration system by your accommodation is a prerequisite for the digital guest card. Some accommodations only register their guests on site at check-in. If you would like to have the digital guest card active beforehand, please contact your accommodation.

I have registered for "Der Walser" via the invitation e-mail from my accommodation, but I cannot activate my digital guest card. What can I do?

If your accommodation cannot help you, please contact Alpenregion Bludenz Tourismus (T +43 5552 30227) or the local tourist office.

What do I have to do once I have received the invitation e-mail?

In the invitation e-mail there is a red, linked field with the title "Click here to go to Der Walser". Click on the link and enter a password. You can then log in with your registration data and activate the guest cards under the menu item "Guest card".

If you have already registered with "Der Walser" during a previous stay, the system will remember your registration data. The invitation e-mail will say "Welcome back" and the link field will say "Here is your new access link". You can log in with your old password or reset the password and assign a new password.

Do I have to go back to my e-mail inbox every time to open the digital guest card?

No. "Der Walser" can be saved on the home screen of your cell phone and is therefore accessible like an app at any time. You can find instructions on how to save the web app on the home screen of your cell phone on the start page of "Der Walser" under the menu item "Welcome" at the bottom.

Do I need an internet connection to load the digital guest card?

If you save your web app on the home screen (see above), it is also available offline. If the digital guest card has already been activated once (with an internet connection), it is saved in the cache and available offline.

How do my fellow travelers receive their digital guest card?

The digital guest cards of all fellow travelers are visible in "Der Walser" of the main traveler. From there, they can be sent to fellow travelers (by e-mail, WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.).

How do people without their own smartphone get a digital guest card (e.g. children)?

The main traveler always receives all the guest cards of his/her fellow travelers. Guest cards can be sent to people with their own cell phone. Guest cards for people without their own cell phone (e.g. children) can be used on the main traveler's cell phone.

Can I also use my digital guest card at the same time as my printed guest card?

Yes, if a guest card is printed out, it can also be activated digitally afterwards and used in parallel. However, if you have already activated the guest card online, your accommodation can create a duplicate for the printed card. The duplicate will have a different guest card number. If you still want to use the digital guest card afterwards, make sure that the card has been updated in the web app and that the guest card numbers are identical. Otherwise you will no longer be able to use the digital guest card with the old guest card number.

How long is my digital guest card valid for?

The digital guest card is valid during your stay in the accommodation and ends automatically on the day of departure.

What do I do if I extend my stay?

If you would like to extend your stay, please inform your accommodation. They will adjust the duration of your stay in the registration system accordingly. The extension will then also be visible on the digital guest card.

Is the web app "Der Walser" also available as a "normal" app in the App Store or Google Play Store?

No, "Der Walser" is a web app and can be accessed via the web browser. It can be saved as a shortcut on the home screen of your cell phone.

What do I do if "The Walser" does not work properly on my cell phone?

If problems occur, first check whether your browser is up to date. Reload the website or delete the cache of your browser. If the problems persist, please contact Alpenregion Bludenz Tourismus (T +43 5552 30227), the local tourist office or your accommodation.
