Klaus Burtscher

The farm of the Burtscher family is located at approx. 1300m above sea level. Our family business has existed for 4 generations. We have been running our farm according to organic guidelines since 1990.

We keep yaks (Asian high mountain cattle), Original Braunvieh, Tyrolean gray cattle as well as Tux-Zillertal cattle and Hinterwald cattle. Also Turopolje pigs, Carniolan stone sheep and radiated goats, chickens and Icelandic horses. We are a member of arche Austria, an association for the preservation of of endangered domestic animal breeds.

In summer, our yaks and dairy cows are on the Bioalpe. In summer only, the milk is processed into our alpine cheese and butter. alp cheese and butter. Of course you can buy the good organic cheese from us and take it home with you. and take it home with you. This cheese has won the prize for the Austrian for the Austrian organic seal.

You can also order the first-class yak meat in advance, as well as the mildly smoked yak meat and farmhouse sausages.
