Detailed description

The Curate's Church of St Catherine is a Roman Catholic church in Marul. It began around 1670 as a wayside shrine, which was transformed into a chapel of Our Lady in 1687. The chapel was elevated to a local chaplaincy around 1738, and a new church was built in 1756. The choir was added a year later. The church has a wooden sprung ceiling in the nave, stained glass windows in the choir and a tabernacle designed by Mila Bjelik-Stöhr in 1948. The wooden reliefs of the Annunciation and the Holy Family were made by Käthe Sinz in 1950 and 1952. The organ was built in 1901 by Anton Behmann.
