The tour starts at the car park at the Lutz. From here, take the forest road into the Hutlatal valley in the direction of Wangspitze/Rindereralpe. At the level of the Rindereralpe, the path branches off into a hiking trail. First the trail leads across a short alpine meadow and then up in the forest towards Wangspitze. Halfway up, you come to a large mountain meadow and from there the trail leads in several serpentines up to the Wangsattel. At the Wangsattel, the view opens up into the biosphere park core zone "Gadental". It takes about 15 minutes to reach the Wangspitze from the Wangsattel. At the 1,873 metre high summit you can enjoy a sensational panoramic view of the Großes Walsertal and the Lechquellen Mountains. From the summit, return a short distance along the same path and then descend via the Matona Alpe. From the Matona Alpe, a fairly wide hiking trail leads down to the stream or to the Gaden Alpen. After the bridge, walk a short distance uphill and then take the hiking trail out of the valley to the Bad Rothenbrunnen Alpine Inn. It is worthwhile to stop here before returning the last few metres to the starting point.
